NEW!! As part of our celebration of poetry, the Poetry Society of Tennessee is pleased to announce a call for submissions for our members! To showcase your diverse voices, current members may publish a poem in Tennessee Voices Anthology, 2025-2026. Please follow submission requirements carefully.
ELIGIBILITY
1. Poet must be a current member of the Poetry Society of Tennessee at time of submission.
2. Poets must submit three (3) poems – one will be chosen.
3. Poems must be the exclusive work of the submitting poet, unpublished, and rights owned by the submitting poet. Should your poem be selected for publication:
a. By submitting, you grant PST first publishing rights. Following publication, all rights revert to the author. We ask that you credit Tennessee Voices Anthology, 2025-2026 if the work is published elsewhere in the future.
b. You further grant PST non-exclusive electronic permission to post this work in archives and share it through social media and/or live presentations.
4. Your work must be created without use of Artificial Intelligence assisted technologies.
5. No simultaneous submissions.
6. While PST welcomes a variety of themes and topics, we do not accept explicitly violent or sexual content for our contests.
7. Poems must adhere to format and submission requirements.
FORMAT AND SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
1. Poems must be submitted in the submissions window of November 15 through December 31, 2025.
2. FORMAT
a. Entries must be single spaced in 12-point Times New Roman or similar font.
b. Entries will not be returned. If submitting a poem style with integrated art (e.g., tanka art, erasure poetry) do not send original. Color copies are acceptable, but any images used in published poems will not appear in color.
c. Poems submitted must not exceed 40 lines. Line count does not include the title or spaces between stanzas. Epigraphs, annotations and the like are included in line count.
d. In the upper right, show the poet’s name, mailing address, email address, and phone number. Include this information on all pages of the submission. For poems appearing on more than one page, place the title on all pages.
3. SUBMISSION
a. We will accept email submissions only, to [email protected].
b. Use SUBJECT: MEMBER CALL SUBMISSION.
c. In the body of the email, include your contact information (name, address, email address and phone number) along with a list of your poem titles submitted. Below that, include a brief (not more than 70-word) bio in third person.
d. Include all three poems in a single file. We prefer a file name of LASTNAME_MEMBER CALL.
PUBLICATION NOTES
1. The Tennessee Voices Anthology Editorial Board reserves the right to alter line breaks in poems having more than 50 characters per line, including punctuation marks and spaces. We reserve the right to make minor revisions to works (e.g., spacing conventions for em-dashes, correction of typographical errors, and the like).
2. Pseudonyms of poets will be honored in Tennessee Voices Anthology; however, we need your name as it appears on the membership roll to validate membership status.
