Carol L. Deering was Director of Central Wyoming College Library for 12 years, has served on the Wyoming Humanities Council, and has won many awards for her poetry, including the Wyoming Arts Council Poetry Fellowship twice (2016, judge Rebecca Foust; and 1999, judge Agha Shahid Ali). Her poems appear in online and traditional journals and anthologies, and in her two books: Havoc & Solace: Poems from the Inland West (2018), and This Passage: Poems (2024), both published by Sastrugi Press, of Jackson, WY. She holds a BA in English and an MA in Librarianship & Information Management. For most of her life, Carol has worked in libraries, and written poems!
